Is This Racist? Funny?

These coupons were in the mail the other day. I love fried chicken (I know, I know), so they caught my attention, because I'm always looking for a break in this world. And then I saw that one of the coupons only works on Martin Luther King Day.
That's funny because I remember going to Popeye's for lunch LAST MLK-Day, but it's messed up because MLK-Day is in honor of a black man, and one of the go-to black stereotypes is a love of fried chicken.
HMM.
I'm conflicted, because Popeye's is my favorite fast food chicken (KFC is just too hit or miss), and these photos make me want some, but I'm insulted that I'm being pandered to, even if the pandering is right on point and I wish I had that coupon last year.

I suppose that Popeye himself would like me to ask you to not print out this photo and bring it to his restaurant.

Well, they do it for every holiday that we remember, so it's not as bad as it seems. They had it for Thanksgiving, Christmas-time and Presidents Day that my wife and I remember.
